Approximately 943,000 Missouri residents suffer from a substance abuse disorder. Of those residents, 54,000 or 11.2% are between the ages of 12 and 17. As of 2022, only 5.3% of the 12 to 17 age group actually received treatment and only 5.8% of the adults received treatment.
