Sergeant Stacy Walton

Sergeant Stacy Walton has been employed by the Linn County Sheriff's Office since July 2020. She supervises others assigned as road patrol deputies in addition to her regular duties as a road patrol deputy.

Sgt. Walton graduated from Moberly Area Community College - Law Enforcement Training Center in May 2002. She then went on to work for Chariton County Sheriff's Office as a jailor / deputy until July 2002. Sgt. Walton stepped away from law enforcement to pursue other employment until she was hired as a dispatcher for Brookfield Police Department in March 2016. She remained there until dispatch was moved out of Brookfield in September 2019. In November 2019, she was hired as an officer for Marceline Police Department and remained there until she was hired by LCSO in July 2020. She was promoted to Sergeant in July 2021. 

When asked why Sgt. Walton enjoys working for Linn County, she said the following: "I like working in Linn County for many reasons. I was raised in Linn County. I Like serving and trying to make a difference where I have raised my family. I invest a lot of time into my community and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the work I've put in turn to something positive for Linn County."


Deputy Brad Aldrich

Deputy Brad Aldrich has been employed by the Linn County Sheriff's Office as a road patrol deputy since January 2022. He is also part of the SORE Unit.

Deputy Aldrich was a member of the US Army and served as an MP from 2008 until 2012. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he was able to challenge the POST test and received his certification in January 2013. He then went on to receive a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in criminal justice from Colorado Technical University. Deputy Aldrich has held positions as a bailiff for the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and served as a deputy in Linn County from 2013 until he was promoted to Sergeant in 2015. He left in 2019 going back to Livingston County as a deputy until he returned to Linn County in 2022.


Deputy Seth Herriman

Deputy Seth Herriman has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office since June 2023 as a road patrol deputy.

Deputy Herriman attended North Central Missouri College receiving an associate degree in criminal justice. From there he attended the Missouri Western State University - Law Enforcement Academy where he graduated June 9, 2023. After graduating with his POST certification, he began his law enforcement career with the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

When asked why he enjoys working for Linn County Sheriff's Office he gave the following response, "Working for Linn County gives me the opportunity to work freely in different areas within the county that I grew up in, either patrolling in the cities, highways, or county roads to spend my days." 


Deputy Tyler Kidd

Deputy Tyler Kidd has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office as a road patrol deputy since September 2024.

Deputy Kidd earned an associate degree in criminal justice from North Central Missouri College in 2019. He then graduated from the Missouri Western State University - Law Enforcement Academy on June 10, 2022. Once he received his POST certification, his first position in law enforcement was as a deputy with the Linn County Sheriff's Office which he began in June 2022. He left LCSO to become an officer for Brookfield Police Department in October 2023. He then returned to his position as a road deputy with the Linn County Sheriff's Office in September 2024. 

When asked why he enjoys working for LCSO, Deputy Kidd had the following to say: "There are a couple of main reasons why I like working here at the Linn County Sheriff's Office. The first being the team I have working beside me to bring the vital law enforcement services to the rural areas of Linn County. Secondly, is working under Sheriff Carrie Melte who is big on community involvement and Special Olympics which allows me to be involved and able to get to know people in our community and build trust through positive interactions." 


Deputy Jermey Nelson

Deputy Jermey Nelson has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office since October 2023 as a road patrol deputy. 

Deputy Nelson graduated from the Moberly Area Community College - Law Enforcement Training Center in December 2011. He then worked as a part-time patrol officer for both Brunswick Police Department from 2013 until 2015 and Marceline Police Department from 2014 until 2016. Nelson later worked for Macon Police Department as an officer from January 2021 until April 2023 when he left to return to Marceline Police Department. Deputy Nelson then left Marceline Police Department in October 2023 to begin working for Linn County Sheriff's Office. 

When asked why he enjoys working for Linn County Sheriff's Office he gave the following response, "My favorite thing about Linn County is all of the people I get to work with and being able to work with and see the residents of Linn County every day."


Bailiff Adam Wynne

Deputy Adam Wynne has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office as a bailiff since August 2023.

Deputy Wynne attended the Missouri Western State University Law Enforcement Academy where he graduated with his POST certification in December 2022. He then began working as a patrol deputy for Livingston County Sheriff's Office until he was hired as the bailiff for LCSO.

When asked why he enjoys working for Linn County Sheriff's Office he gave the following response, "My favorite things about working for Linn County are having a very proactive Sheriff when it comes to every aspect of law enforcement and the family first atmosphere and mindset of Linn County."


Court Security / Transportation Officer Charles "Ed" Melte

Court Security / Transportation Officer Charles "Ed" Melte has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office since November 2022. 

Officer Melte is a native to the area and graduate of Brookfield R-III School District. Prior to joining the Linn County Sheriff's Office he worked as a Detention Officer for Caldwell County Detention Center. 


Julie Pate, Administrative Assistant

Julie Pate has been employed with the Linn County Sheriff's Office as a part-time Administrative Assistant since May 2024.

Julie assists with answering the phones, filing, processing civil service papers, and various other tasks as needed.
