Promotion and New Hire Announcement!

Congratulations to Chief Deputy Aldrich

Welcome Sergeant Jon Chandler

Sheriff Melte is proud to announce the promotion of Deputy Brad Aldrich to the rank of Chief Deputy and to welcome Jon Chandler to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy Aldrich has served as a deputy with the Linn County Sheriff's Office since January 2022. He previously held the position as a bailiff for the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, then served as a deputy in Linn County from 2013 until he was promoted to Sergeant in 2015. He left in 2019 going back to Livingston County as a deputy until he returned to Linn County. In addition to his duties as Chief Deputy, Brad also serves as the Terrorism Liaison Officer, Field Training Officer and is a member of the Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement Unit. Chief Deputy Aldrich has been an asset to Linn County Sheriff's Office as a deputy and Sheriff Melte is confident that he will be able to help advance LCSO even more in his new position.

Chandler joins the Linn County Sheriff's Office at the rank of Sergeant and will be the supervising Road Deputy. Sergeant Chandler received his POST certification in 2011 from Missouri Western State University Law Enforcement Academy. He began his law enforcement career with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and then moved to the Holt Police Department where he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Throughout his career, he has also served as an officer and deputy for the Noel Marshal's Office, Rock Port Police Department and most recently the Trenton Police Department. Sgt. Chandler also spent time serving as a reserve officer and deputy for the Lanagan Police Department and McDonald County Sheriff's Office. In addition to his on-the-job experience, Sgt. Chandler has also received various specialized training such as CIT, ARIDE, and many others that will be of great benefit to our office and community. Sergeant Chandler is also a member of the Missouri Law Enforcement Funeral Assistance Team.
