Foot Pursuit in Meadville Area

One male has been taken into custody after fleeing from law enforcement in the Meadville, MO area. Jason Gates was arrested on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and booked into Macon County Jail on a Missouri Probation and Parole warrant for absconding.
On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at approximately 2000 hours, Linn County Central Dispatch received a report of a wanted fugitive staying in Meadville, MO. Linn County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to the residence in Meadville where they attempted to make contact with the subject. One LCSO deputy observed the subject at the residence and confirmed his identity as Jason Gates. The deputy then attempted to take Gates into custody, however, he fled on foot. At this time additional LCSO deputies, Missouri Highway Patrol, and Macon County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit were called in to assist LCSO in tracking the subject. All attempts to locate Gates were unsuccessful and the search was called off at approximately 2250 hours as there was not any immediate threat to the public. Linn County Sheriff's Office deputies did continue to remain in the area and surveille the residence. Gates was observed leaving the residence the following morning and was stopped by the Linn County Sheriff's Office and Missouri Highway Patrol where he was arrested and transported to the Macon County Jail.
